The SBEP Bay Guardian volunteers visited Florida Maritime Museum on Saturday, September 27. The outing was also part of National Estuaries Day, which helps to promote public awareness about the importance of estuaries and the need to protect them. Volunteers planted Florida native plants in the shallow water around a pond. They also created a butterfly garden. The Bay friendly landscaping helped promote the health of the Bay. The project was funded by a SBEP Bay Partners Grant. Project partners included the Florida Maritime Museum and Around the Bend Nature Tours.
