Bay Guardians at Oscar Scherer State Park

The SBEP Bay Guardians teamed up with Oscar Scherer State Park for an Earth Day celebration on Saturday, April 27. It was also the kick off of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) World Environment Day. More than 140 volunteers planted over 9,000 wetland grass plugs. The other project partners were Scheda Ecological Associates, Around the Bend Nature Tours, Daisy Girl Scouts with Troop 254, Americorps, Manatee County Dibblers, Samosett Elementary School , and a local Boy Scout troop.
