Bay Guardians at Jiggs Landing

The SBEP Bay Guardians visited Jiggs Landing for a volunteer outing on Saturday, February 8. The 61 volunteers and seven staff members collectively planted nearly 6,000 Florida native plants. Jiggs Landing is located on the Ever’s Reservoir in Manatee County. The property was originally purchased in 1944; the popular fishing camp has undergone extensive renovations and was re-opened to the public in late 2010. SBEP provided lunch for the volunteers and staff after the morning project. The Bay Guardians welcome individuals, families or small groups and all of the volunteer projects benefit Sarasota Bay.
