Wildlife photographers Marla and Terry Frankford of Sarasota retired from a career with Verizon’s Communications Engineering Department in 2003. Marla’s love of photography started after using Terry’s camera on a hiking trip in Tennessee. She studied photography intensely for a year and discovered a passion for photographing butterflies in addition to other wildlife. She is currently raising Florida butterflies to photograph and film the entire metamorphosis process. Terry’s life long passion for the outdoors spans more than 40 years in Sarasota and the surrounding Gulf Coast region. A licensed United States Coast Guard Captain, Terry owns Reelin & Chillin Charters, a fishing, photograph and nature tour guide business.
