Although I was raised from a young age with a love of nature and all of its creatures, my passion for birds was ignited when my second-grade science teacher presented our class with an incubator full of duck eggs. Much of my free time then became consumed with learning about birds. Upon moving from New England to Florida at 18, my father bought me my first Canon SLR, and my love of photography was born. I enrolled in several nature photography classes and have been photographing ever since. You may often find me dressed in camouflage or waders, submerged in water, covered in mud or lying flat on my belly in the sand attempting a photograph from what I hope is the best vantage point. My plan is to continue honing my photography and birding skills but, most of all, to have fun photographing and birding with my friends. My latest goal is to spend more time traveling and photographing a variety of wildlife. My summer months will continue to be spent volunteering “for the birds” which is always a great joy! When I am out in nature, I feel at peace whether photographing or just admiring the beauty surrounding me.
